In a recent update to the beloved creative sandbox game Minecraft, developers at Mojang Studios have fulfilled a longstanding request from players by introducing 4K resolution support for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S versions. The much-anticipated feature arrived with the release of Minecraft Preview version 126.96.36.199 on December 13, aiming to elevate the visual experience for users on both consoles.
While the update brought various additions, including a player-voted mob character called the Armadillo, new armor sets, and blocks, the highlight may have been easily overlooked. Nestled near the end of the official changelog for Minecraft Preview 188.8.131.52, a brief note announced the arrival of 4K resolution support for Xbox Series consoles. Previously, players on these consoles had been limited to a 1080p experience due to the lack of optimization for the Xbox Series X and S builds, lagging behind their counterparts on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
