Minecraft’s next update offers more content for crafters with new building materials, explorative areas, and mobs. We’re here to provide you with the latest details on Minecraft 1.21’s release date and expected features.
When does Minecraft 1.21 come out?
Based on the timeline of past Minecraft updates, Version 1.21 will likely launch in June 2024. We’ve seen this happen before with Caves & Cliffs, Wild, and Nether updates, all releasing in June through the years. The Minecraft Live 2023 Recap post also indicates that the 1.21 update will come out “midway through 2024.”
The timeframe could still change with delays, but a June release seems highly likely for now. Fortunately, most Minecraft 1.21 features are already available in SnapShot and Preview. Although these are beta versions, they provide sneak peeks into upcoming mechanics.
All new features for Minecraft 1.21
Minecraft 1.21 showcases a few new elements to the game, with the following content:
- Armadillo mob
- Wolf armor
- Trial Chambers
- Tuff and Copper blocks
- Trial Spawners
- Crafter
- The Breeze and Wind Charges
- The Vault
- Bogged mobs
The Mob Vote 2023 event unleashed the Armadillo in the savanna biomes. Compared to other mobs, they are rather shy when approaching them abruptly. So, in this case, slow and steady wins the race.
Armadillo drops Scutes used for crafting protective wolf armor. Instead of killing the cute creature for the material, use a brush on it from the Trails and Tales update.
